The Parents and Friends of Barraduff National School are taking to the roads on Sunday 16th June for the 8th annual cycle to raise funds for the school.
“ Over the last 7 years we have hosted hundreds of cyclists each year who have helped raise funds that were used to improve the teaching resources available to the pupils of Barraduff National School” a spokesperson told the Killarney Outlook.
“This year we are raising funds to assist with the fit-out costs of a new Sensory Room in the school and an extension of the playground facilities”
The cycle is an 80km route, commencing at the Community Field, Barraduff, and proceeding to Kenmare via Kilgarvan. At Kenmare there is the opportunity to stop for refreshments at the community centre before cyclists set off on the climb for Molls Gap where there will be a quick pit stop for Fruit and Water if necessary. From there it is back to John Dan’s Bar in Barraduff where there will be more refreshments to reward the cyclists for completing their challenge.
The cycle has proven a very popular event in recent years and is an ideal opportunity to tackle the Molls Gap climb in advance of the Ring of Kerry!
Registration takes place in the community field Barraduff on Saturday 15th June form 7pm to 8pm and on Sunday Morning from 7:30am.
