Gneeveguilla NS officially opened their new extension on June 21st. The day included raising of an active school flag and a green schools flag. The new extension boasts two resource rooms and the school now has a state of the art sensory room.
It was a very proud day for the school as they achieved their 3rd green flag, 1st active school flag and 5th Discover Primary Science and Maths Award.
Pupils, staff, parents, grandparents and members of the community celebrated with chairperson of the Board of Management Eileen Cronin raising the flags and cutting the ribbon on the new extension. Eileen has been chairperson for almost 12 years. Fr. Anthony o Sullivan blessed the next extension.
The state of the art sensory room is provided by Health Care 21 and co incidentally two past pupils worked long into the night to get the room kitted out for the big day. Uncle and nephew Joe and Liam McCarthy both employees of HC21 were responsible for the wonderful addition to their local primary school.
The new extension was built by Tommie Finnegan and designed by Donagh o Regan of Reeks Engineers.
