Independent Cllr Jackie Healy Rae is calling on Kerry County Council to carry out a programme of tree trimming on the main Street in Castleisland. It is just one of the five motions that he will bring to next weeks first Castleisland Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
Healy Rae who topped the poll in the Castleisland area told the Outlook that was looking forward to getting to work.
“I’m really looking forward to getting going to be honest. I met such a lot of people over the course of the election and there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed”
Among the other motions that Healy Rae will raise are to
– ask Kerry County Council to carry out works to reinstate and resurface the yards in Gneeveguilla Village following works which has left the yard and footpath not fit for propose and to complete the footpath with paving.
– That Kerry County Council would carry out remedial works on the Glousharoon Viewing Point, Castleisland as it is the first stop coming into Kerry.
– That Kerry County Council conduct cross county planning with Cork County Council with regard to emergency, evacuation and fire extinguishing plans as the proposed battery station in Ballinhulla, Ballydesmond, Co. Kerry will have a huge effect on both the townlands around the station and the village of Ballydesmond, Co.Cork should it go on fire.
– That this MD would write to Minister Richard Bruton and the ESB to provide further E-Charging points throughout the MD, currently in the Castleisland LEA, there is only one.
